Hi there! My name is Brittany Blackman!

Behind the curtains

A little bit about who we are...

I had the best parents and home life one could ask for, as well as a big sister who made sure to constantly push me to new limits (heck, even still today!) We weren’t rich by any means, but we lived a great, fun life. My father passed away unexpectedly in 2014, and with the devastating news, I realized how short and bitter sweet life was. We spent a lot of quality family time together, and I’m thankful for the memories we created.

In 2010, I felt the urge to move somewhere new, to find a place where I could sparkle and shine (I think I have glitter in my veins). Destin, Florida, happened to be that very spot. A few years after the big move, I met my now-husband, Stan, at a wine festival. We sipped; we laughed at each other’s jokes. And, we knew it was meant to be when we found out we both loved fishing!

I have a stepson who loves anything adventurous and is a total boy. We have two dogs who love treats, multiple times a day. Spending quality time with my family is more important to me than anything else in the world.

My professional journey

Where I started & where I'm headed.

My professional career started in hospitality – beginning in restaurants and retail, and eventually moving into short term/vacation rentals. I founded my very own STR business in 2020, Breathe Easy Rentals. I successfully sold the vacation rental business in August 2024 and founded a new consulting and coaching business, Discover Freedom.

Over the years, I held several managerial/leadership positions where I focused on cultivating environments where the company’s mission was encompassed in all the team touched, while creating/evolving efficient processes & strong brand recognition for prosperous bottom lines.

Most recently, I founded Discover Freedom, aiming to help professionals figure out how to integrate work and life together, without going insane. I am working to obtain my Professional Certified Coach (PCC) Credential through the Advanced Coaching Practicum (ACP), which is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) certified school. Through practical strategies, hands-on consulting, and sharing of lessons learned the hard way, it is my goal that others can learn quicker and with less obstacles.

“The International Coaching Federation (ICF) reports the following statistics on the benefits of executive coaching:

       70% increase in individual performance

       50% increase in team performance

       48% increase in organizational performance

Where else can you possibly get this kind of return?”
